Risks:

Kayaking: There are various risks associated with water activities. These risks include, but are not limited
to, the minor (cuts and scratches, sun burn) through to critical (drowning) and those in between;
such as collision with other participants or collision with other boats on the water resulting in more
serious first aid incidents (sprains, breaks, immersion in the water), sunstroke, injuries from fall or
slipping on a wet or moving surface, diving into shallow water, bites or stings by marine animals or
cuts on shells, rocks, ramps, decking. Although there are a number of precautions taken to mitigate
these risks sailing, boating & canoeing is still a risk activity.

Hike to campsite
The hike component may be modified or cancelled in the instance of bad weather or other known
dangers. In addition to those risks identified for the hike component, during the camp component
the cubs will be exposed to a range of bush based activities including fire lighting and navigation
through scrub. Consequently there is an increased risk of burn, abrasion or other injury during those
activities that will be managed, but as with the hike component, the risk of a minor or serious injury
can not be entirely mitigated.
