Cub Scout Introduction to Fencing  
Youth Fencing Academy, Lane Cove

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are pleased to invite your Cub Scout to an introductory fencing session using the foil. The session will be run by the instructors at Youth Fencing Academy Sydney at their Lane Cove West facility, with Scout leaders present.

The aim of the afternoon is simple: for the Cubs to have fun and get a safe, enjoyable first taste of the sport.

What will happen  
Cubs will be introduced to the basics of foil fencing under the careful guidance of the academy’s instructors. All activity will take place in a structured, supervised setting.

Safety – please read  
- On the day, Cubs must follow the instructors’ directions at all times.  
- Full fencing protective equipment will be provided by the academy. It **must be worn at all times** whenever a weapon is being held.  
- Scout leaders will be on site, but the fencing instruction and equipment rules are set by the academy.

**What to wear and bring**  
- Long pants (tracksuit pants or similar)  
- Scout shirt  
- Water bottle  
- Enclosed shoes suitable for indoor activity

The academy is in a commercial estate. Off-street parking is available a short walk from the venue.
